Jerry leapt out of the way and then pushed me to the ground, struggling to hold me down as I scratched furiously at his legs and arms.
Eventually my thrashing subsided and I let my wings fall to the ground, panting.
Dazed, I looked up at Jerry, "What happened?" I asked, appalled.
Jerry shrugged, "Nothing much, you just had a hissy fit."
I glared at him. "I'll give you a hissy fit you-"
"Kidding! Kidding," Jerry said, grinning, and then said in a more serious tone, "Don't worry about it, it's normal for new vampires to overreact a bit after their first taste of blood."
I didn't know what to say after that, so I stayed silent. Finally I realized that he was still on top of me and pushed him off.
"You messed up my fur," I said grumpily, smoothing off my chest fur.
"You messed up mine," Jerry shot back, combing his fur with his fingers.
"Hmph," I said, and sauntered off.
"Hmph," Jerry mimicked, sticking his tongue out at me as I walked away.
Grumbling, I flew into my sleeping quarters and lay down in the cloths, staring up at the bark above my head.
I only lasted 3 cricket chirps before I became bored out of my mind.
Luckily, Jerry soon flew into my room with a small acorn balanced on top of his head. "Want to play Clawcorn?" he asked, making the acorn wobble.
"Clawcorn?" I asked, tilting my head to one side, "Whats Clawcorn?"
Jerry's eyes became as wide as the acorn atop his head. It fell to the ground as his mouth fell open in astonishment.
"You don't know what CLAWCORN is?" he , still gaping foolishly at me.
"No," I said testily, beginning to feel a little annoyed, "And I won't unless you tell me."
"Clawcorn is only the most famous game ever!" Jerry cried, "How could you possibly not know it?!"
"I've never heard of this game and neither has anyone in my colony," I said defensively, my intelligence beginning to feel a little insulted.
"You poor creature! You must learn immediately!" Jerry said dramatically, picking the acorn up and pushing me out of the room in one big swoop.
I flew out of the hole grudgingly, a bit unnerved at being ordered around.
Jerry flew out after me, quickening his pace to fly to my side.
As we flew off into the dark, shadowy trees, Jerry nudged me gelnty.
"By the way," Jerry said nonchalantly,"You wouldn't have heard of Clawcorn, it's a vampire game."
I kicked him as hard as I could and flew away, his laughter echoing after me.
