This poem I wrote was featured in my school's Writer's Assembly so I thought it was good enough to post. Hope you like it! J

Bunny Bear

Bunny bear lived on my pillow

A place of honor beside my head

And while I shook and trembled in sleep

He would untangle my hair with fingerless hands

Patience and understanding seeping from cotton paws

And turning my nightmares to dreams

His magic hands caused a movement inside me

Gently pushing me in my own direction

And quieting the riot beneath my skin

While I plummeted deeper into the oblivion of my mattress

With the sheets tying knots around my ankles

The shadows playing with my breath

And the night banging on my window

While I slept

Bunny bear braid my brown black hair

Into ropes I could hold on to

Hold on, my friend, he said

Hold on
