--This story is labeled Four Kingdoms, Continued. That is because this particular installment does NOT contain the beginning of the story. This is not a sequel. It is a second half of a novel. So if you happened to stumble upon this story by chance, PLEASE go to the provided link---- www. fictionpress .com/s/2634424/1/Four_Kingdoms for the beginning (and middle) of the story. As for my reasons for doing this, please visit the last chapter of the original Four Kingdoms story at the link provided and read the explanation. Don't plan on starting your reading here and picking up on the storyline like you would a sequel, BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A SEQUEL. It is a continuation of a story, which you will not understand unless you have read the chapters at the provided link. I'm sorry if I seem to be stressing this a lot, but I want to make it perfectly clear. If you want to Story Alert the original, feel free, but THIS is where I'll be updating, so it'd be best to Story Alert this if you happen to finish the first installment at the preceding link and plan on reading more.

--The story in question has 135+ reviews, nearly 4,000 hits, 16 favs and and 17 alerts. It has been featured on bestanimefiction . com (even though it's not anime, but hey, someone nominated it. It wasn't me). I have done artwork for it on Deviantart, if anyone is interested in checking that out before reading. The link to my DA page can be found on my homepage. (And I promise I can draw. I am an art major at college, after all.)

--Summary, in case you're interested: Four kingdoms base their culture and religion around certain animals. There is the bird kingdom (the Aves), the boar kingdom (the Scrofa), the horse kingdom (the Equus) and the snake kingdom (the Colubri). Jabali begins our tale as a humble Scrofa woman terrified of her engagement to the savage tribe leader. She runs, trying to escape a marriage she's sure will end in shame and sorrow. There is Ardea, the disgruntled and dissatisfied avian princess living in the shadow of her prettier and more successful siblings. She longs to escape to a world without rules and without oppression. Cal of the Equus merely plans on visiting the Aves kingdom to sell two horses, but instead gets mixed up in a deal with the king and ends up at the alter with a woman he's never met. King Marcianus of the Colubri has no plans, only to languish in the sun with his lover, the fierce Naja, and watch his city flourish. But when Jabali's fiance's pride is damaged by her escape, he plans for more than just a simple chase and retrieval. Soon he's calling for war, and with the help of some frightening allies, he turns his sights to everyone's end destination: the Colubri city. This is where our heroes and villains all meet in one epic battle none of them will ever forget.
