A/N: This brings us to the end of my little tale. Thanks for sticking with me, I know this was a long one. Enjoy the final chapter!

She could hear Johnny shouting as she plummeted down, free falling. She would have screamed, but she was too shocked to be scared. There was a massive clang as her back hit the railing of the fire escape, forcing her into a mid air tailspin. There was another clang and a brief pause before she dropped to the ground. Casey didn't even look down to see his finished handiwork. He just enjoyed the infuriated look on Johnny's face as he tried to break free and kill him, screaming obscenities.

"Maybe this will teach you to pay a little more attention in future. She'd be alive if you would just follow orders like a good little boy. But I'll be seeing you later." Casey waved sadistically and left via the inside exit, his cronies following a few moments later. Johnny paid no attention to them. His only thought was for Honey.

He flew down the fire escape taking the stairs three and four at a time. She was flat on her back, eyes closed, arms out and legs relatively together. She looked as if she was an angel flying. He fell to his knees once he reached her, scooping her motionless body into his arms.

"No. No no no no no, Honey, no..." He slammed his free fist down on the pavement with a cry of anger and then pressed her close to his chest. "Honey." He nestled his head in her hair and kissed her cheek. It was warm and soft, as it had always been. He could almost feel her breathing against him. He'd never feel that again...He never thought in a million years that she would die. What the hell would he do without her? She was everything to him, his only chance, the only girl that would ever matter to him. She had been his and Casey didn't have the right to take that from him. He closed his eyes to savour the last moment that he would ever hold her again- and she would never know how much he needed her. What the hell was he going to do without Honey?

"Is he gone yet?" Johnny heard a faint whisper from behind his ear and he let Honey's body drop a little from him so he could see her face. He was hearing things- imagining things. Was he?

Her eyes opened and she whispered again, "Is he gone?"

He stared down in disbelief, gawking and then suddenly he clutched her to him again, tighter than he'd ever held her before. She gasped and he'd never heard a more beautiful sound in his entire life. "Honey, what the hell...?" His voice was choked with tears.

"I hit the fire escape- it broke my fall. I figured if Casey thought I was dead...Johnny, I was so scared." She nuzzled into his strong arms and had never been so happy to be anywhere in her entire life.

"Are...did...he...Are you hurt?" He could barely form a coherent sentence.

"I...I don't think so. Are you okay?" She pulled away from him slightly and gingerly touched the gash on his forehead. He couldn't help but smile. What kind of girl gets thrown off a building and her first concern becomes a scrape on her boyfriend's forehead? She shouldn't care. She should be furious at him- the entire thing was his fault. Yet, she was asking about him. He didn't deserve it.

"Now I am." He kissed her deeply, having thought that he never would get to again. He never wanted to break it, feeling her breathing steadily against his chest and his fingers entwined in her hair. He inhaled her scent deeply, nothing ever feeling so good as her lips on his. She pulled away for breath, he was crushing her bruised ribs in his grip, but she didn't care.

"I am so sorry, Twitchy." He whispered, rubbing his hands up and down her arms upon noticing that she was shaking. She crossed her arms across her chest and looked up at him.

"What's going to happen now? I just want to go home, but..." She closed her eyes and fell against his shoulder. "What do we do?"

"...You could marry me."

"What?" She sat up again, confused. She had to have heard him wrong- Johnny proposing was about as likely as Hitler having tea with a rabbi.

"Honey, will you marry me? Look, I know that I'm a bum with no job, no place, no money, no ring...Heck, I can't even stake my claim to friends now, but...I can't live without you and it's going to take at least a lifetime for me to make up for this. The gang is over with me. They can sort out their own problems- I just want a life with four or five brats and half a dozen condescending neighbors in a white picket fence neighborhood and I'll be damned happy about it all because you'll be there. Please. Marry me."

To say she was shocked was an understatement. "You have nothing to make up for."

"I almost got you killed, Honey, I wouldn't say that's nothing to make up for! And that's not exactly an answer." He looked at her hopefully. "If you don't want to, I wouldn't blame you."

"Do you love me?"

"Do I love you? Do you even have to ask that?"

"You never said that you did..." She fidgeted in his lap awkwardly.

"Well I didn't figure that I had to spell it out for you."

"So, what's your answer?"

"Of course I love you, Honey!" He laughed in disbelief and shook his head. "I'd do anything for you- I thought you knew that."

She shook her head, bashfully looking up at him. "Then, I guess my answer is yes."

"You'll marry me?"

"I always thought I'd end up with some middle class business man and we'd settle down and have a bunch of kids and live happily ever after and nothing interesting would ever happen. Now, I think I'd be bored out of my mind with anyone less than you."

He grinned like he had the day that he'd scored a date with her, and he'd never felt so elated in his life. He kissed her again, gentler this time, and swooped her up in his arms. She smiled brightly and he'd never seen any creature so beautiful. It hurt her like hell to be held, to be touched, from being smashed against metal from three stories up, but, she didn't care. She was safe in the arms of a man who she finally knew loved her like mad and that was all that mattered to her. That was all that would ever matter.

"I love you." she confessed quietly. He twirled her around in his arms a few times before setting her down again lightly.

"I love you too."
