AN: This is one of five really old poems of mine that I stumbled across when I was moving.

The light it fades,

My cries unheard.

You leave me here,

To face the night.

All warmth is gone,

Cold steals into our embrace.

Death breathes the air from you lips,

Leaving behind remembered smiles.

Your face remains forever young,

Your heart forever free.

You risked it all to be you,

And believed.

Your glow has faded,

Your warmth long gone.

You leave me now,

And yet carry on.

I wished you to stay,

Wanted you to be.

Forever remembered,

Always to be loved.
