Author's note: First of all, I'd like to say I know nothing about coffee. I don't like the smell, let alone the taste. I literally just googled Starbucks and picked something on the front page. Anywho, moving on, this idea just kind of popped into my head. Hopefully, it's not too cliche or anything, and if it is, I'm not sure that I particularly care. This is NOT going to distract me from writing Rash Reactions, but will probably be updated between updates on Rash. I'm not sure. I'll bounce back and forth according to my mood, I'm sure. I'm not sure if the whole thing between Julian and Vince is rushed or not in this first chapter, but meh, it's 2 AM. That's what happens when I write at 2 AM.
Side note: Julian is 18 and a senior in high school. Therefore, he's not a minor.

Chapter One
I flipped the page in my book, sighing in boredom. It was a very slow day, with very few people coming into the café. Of course, this wasn't that unusual for that time of the year. Most people were too busy shopping for school supplies to even bother going into the cozy little café. Of the few that had come in that day, they'd all been laden down with shopping bags.
"You're absolutely no fun."
I glanced up at Alice as she crossed her arms, glaring at me with an impatient look on her face. "Um, I'm sorry?" I murmured cautiously.
Alice just rolled her eyes. "Julian, we're stuck here for another two hours before closing, there have been hardly any customers all day, and do you have the common decency to entertain me? No! Instead, you just sit there and read while I get to sit here and be bored. You. Are. No. Fun."
I sighed, closing my book. Alice was the only person I'd actually put down a book for. The French transfer student was staying with a family next door to me, and had moved in at the start of the summer. We'd quickly formed a friendship, and I had helped her get a job at the café I worked at. The girl was fun to be around, even if I did have trouble sometimes understanding the thick French accent.
"So, this means you're going to entertain me?" Alice asked, eying me curiously.
"Do I have a choice?" I laughed, looking over at the redhead. Alice just beamed, shaking her head. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"
"We should talk about boys. That's always fun!" Alice giggled.
"Do we have to?" I asked, blushing. "Just because I'm gay doesn't mean you can drag me into your boy discussions all the time!"
"Actually, it does," Alice replied. "You're the best friend I've got here, and you're the only friend I have that won't make fun of me for gushing over some guy. It's not my fault I'm occasionally attracted to guys with glasses and freckles!"
"So does that mean you have a new conquest?" I laughed.
"His name is Garret," Alice sighed, a dreamy look crossing over her face. "He has red hair, though not as red as mine, and he has the most adorable freckles across his nose! He wears glasses and he has the habit of pushing them further up his nose when he gets nervous. He's so sweet and adorable!"
"You're ridiculous," I laughed.
"Well at least I actually have a type of guy I like, rather than being attracted to anyone that just so happens to catch my eye. Honestly, Julian, when's the last time you had a boyfriend?"
"My freshmen year of high school," I mumbled.
"And before that?"
"Seventh grade, and nobody before that," I sighed. I'd only ever dated two different boys, and both of them were more friends than boyfriends. I'd never kissed either of them, held hands with them, anything. In fact, I'd never done any of that with anyone. Hell, I didn't even hug people except Alice. Maybe I'm just not the relationship type. That's quite a depressing thought, actually. I mean, it's not as if I want to live my life alone.
"Julian, you need a boyfriend," Alice said firmly. "Maybe I can help you!"
"That's okay," I laughed. "I don't need a guy that bad."
"You do need a guy, though. I can tell. You're just that type of guy; the one that needs a strong man to hold him and take care of him. I will say it again, Jules. You. Need. A. Boyfriend."
"Alice, please be serious," I groaned. "I really don't need a boyfriend that badly. I'm used to not being in a relationship. The only two I ever had were with guys that were horribly inexperienced and it was more like hanging out with friends all the time rather than actually dating."
"Have you ever been on a date, Julian?"
"Of course I have!"
"When?" Alice asked, looking skeptical. "And I don't mean one of those 'hanging out with friends' things. I mean an actual date, complete with hand-holding and the like."
I blinked, before looking down at my book in my lap. I bit my lip and glanced up at Alice, who raised a curious eyebrow at me. "When you put it like that, then never," I said quietly.
"Case and point," Alice said, nodding to herself. "You need a boyfriend. You just don't think you do!"
"You're hopeless," I scoffed."You are completely and utterly ridiculous. I really don't need a boyfriend. Even if I wanted one, I don't know any gay or bi guys around here that would be interested in me."
"Honey, how could they not be interested in you?" Alice asked, appalled. "You are adorable, even if you're not my type. You're a sweet guy, you're intelligent, and you're very compassionate. Anyone would be lucky to have you."
"Stop trying to flatter me," I blushed.
"I'm not! I'm just being honest," Alice retorted. "You're a great catch, Julian."
"Alice, I'm serious. Stop trying to convince me. It doesn't matter!" I growled, picking up my book again.
"Oh, don't go anti-social on me! I'll stop," Alice sighed. "Put the book down."
I obeyed, looking at her cautiously, not really believing she was done. Alice just started fiddling with a strand of her hair, curling it around her finger, before turning her attention back to me. "I think I'm going to ask Garret out."
"Do you even talk to him?"
"That's not the point," Alice said, rolling her eyes. "I've seen how he looks at me. He's definitely attracted to me. He does that thing with his glasses every time I get within ten feet of him. I think I'm going to ask him out, or at least start flirting heavily with him. You know, let him know I'm attracted!"
"Don't scare him away," I laughed. "You don't want that to happen again."
"It's not my fault that boy didn't understand I liked him," Alice pouted. "Boys are just stupidly oblivious."
"Hey!" I yelled. Now it was my turn to pout.
Alice giggled. She looked like she was about to reply, when I suddenly saw her eyes widen. I turned as I heard the chime of the door, and I felt everything in me freeze.
The most gorgeous man I had ever seen in my entire life had just entered the café. He was tall and I could tell due to his tight shirt that he worked out, even if he wasn't overly muscular. His blonde hair looked like his fingers had run through it too many times, but it actually looked perfect on him. He was definitely the type that could work the messy-hair look. Even his sense of style was incredible. His jeans were obviously worn, but they fit him perfectly. When he turned to look around the café, I could tell he had a great ass. His shirt was fairly tight, and his tanned skin was absolutely flawless. When he removed his sunglasses and looked at the counter where Alice and I were, I was met with a pair of the most beautiful green eyes I'd ever seen in my entire life.
"Holy shit," Alice whispered, and I couldn't help but agree. I was delighted to find that he practically glided when he walked to the counter.
"I'll take one Arabian Mocha Sanani, please," he said, taking his wallet out of his back pocket. I blushed, immediately jumping up to make it as Alice led him to the register. That voice! He had the voice of a God, I swear. I think I'll call him Adonis.
I tried to avoid looking at him as I made his drink, because I knew if I looked at him, I'd be instantly distracted. I finally brought his drink to him, blushing deeply as I placed it on the counter in front of him. Much to my horror, he'd chosen a seat at the counter. "Here you are, sir," I said quietly, making a point not to look at him.
"Thanks, Julian," he said, that deep and sensual voice surrounding me. I nearly melted when I heard him say my name, and then glanced up at him in confusion. How did he know me?
"It's on your name tag," he chuckled. Damn, even his laugh was enough to turn me into a sap!
"Oh, right," I blushed.
"I'm Vince, by the way."
I glanced up at him, stunned. Was he really talking to me? I saw him grin at me, and I blushed even more. "Nice to meet you," I mumbled. I started to walk away again, desperate to get away before I humiliated myself further, before I felt him place his hand on top of mine to stop me. The moment he touched me, it felt like I was on fire.
"Did I do something wrong?" he asked curiously, and I looked up at him in shock.
"What? No! What gave you that idea?"
"Well, you refuse to look at me half the time, for one," he said, smiling gently at me. "I'm sorry if I offended you with my staring." Wait, he had been staring at me?
"You were staring at me?"
This time, Vince laughed out-right. "Well, yeah. I couldn't take my eyes off you when you made my drink. I didn't think you'd mind, after the way you stared at me when I came in. You're really gorgeous, by the way."
Damn it! I hadn't meant to be so obvious, and it turns out I had been obvious enough to make him content in the belief that I was interested. Which, in all honestly, was definitely true. No wonder the guy was coming on so strongly! He probably had absolutely no doubt about the fact that I was indeed interested in him. I blushed and looked down, and I felt his hand tighten around mine. I jumped; I'd forgotten he still had his hand on mine. "Are you busy, or would you be willing to sit with me for a while and talk?"
My eyes widened and I glanced over at Alice, who nodded in excitement. I blushed and nodded, taking off my apron I was forced to wear, and walking around the counter to sit next to him.
"How old are you, Julian?" he asked.
"I'm 18," I replied.
"You're kidding! You don't look it," he said.
"Well, how old are you?" I retorted.
"I'm 21. That's not a problem, is it?"
"Why would it be?"
"Well," he laughed, "I didn't know if you'd mind the age gap."
"Why would I mind the age gap?" This guy was confusing me.
"Julian, how would you like to go out sometime this weekend? We can do whatever you want. I'd really like to spend time with you."
"Me?" I asked, shocked. "You want to spend time with me?"
"Why wouldn't I?" Vince asked, his thumb rubbing across the back of my hand. Wait; when had he taken my hand again? "You're gorgeous, Julian. You're a sweet guy from what I know so far, and I find the way you're constantly blushing completely endearing. I don't know if you want more than friendship from me, but I'd love to get to know you better, even if that is all you want. Though I believe you want more than friendship just as much as I do."
"I, um," I mumbled, my face feeling like it was on fire. Was I really being that obvious?
"You are absolutely adorable," he laughed. "So, what do you say? Would you like to be my date for the weekend?"
"What would we do?" I asked cautiously.
"We could go do whatever you want," he replied. "If you don't have any specific preferences or ideas, I was thinking we could stick to dinner and a movie."
"You're serious?" I asked, still not really believing him. "You really want to go on a date with me?"
"Julian, I wouldn't be here if I didn't," he said, looking me right in the eyes.
"Okay," I whispered.
"Really?" he asked, his eyes lighting up in excitement. "That's great! I'll even stop by to pick you up so you don't have to worry about anything, okay? Can I get directions to your place so I can pick you up?"
I nodded, writing down my phone number and directions to my house. Vince glanced briefly at the paper, nodding to himself, before placing it into his wallet. "What time can I pick you up? I want to spend as much time with you as possible."
"How about noon? That way I can sleep in and have time to get ready," I replied, a light blush remaining on my cheeks.
"Deal," he said. "Check out what movies are playing right now, and pick one out. Don't worry about my taste of movies. I'll watch anything once."
I nodded, and he gave my hand a brief squeeze before standing up. "Thanks for the coffee, Julian. I can't wait until this weekend," he said, before leaving.
I sat there, still slightly stunned, before Alice ran over and practically leaped across the counter and attacked me.
"You have a date with the hottest guy I've ever seen!" she squealed.
"This has to be a dream," I said, still stunned.
"Then you better hope you never wake up, because they don't get more gorgeous than that."
