Reminiscence

Oh, how I remember

And yearn for the days,

When joy was pure,

And innocence was absolute.

-

When we used to run,

The sun burning fiery red,

Slapping, on the white sand,

Our tired feet slack.

-

The palm trees hovering, dancing,

The gentle waves washing ashore,

With genuine smiles, no smudges,

Sharing views of great accord.

-

All that time, free to own,

We were independent,

With no worries and no thoughts,

To obscure our freedom.

-

What we used to do,

Deeper and more complete,

However small they were,

Now, no more than memories.

-

Oh, how I remember,

And yearn for the days,

When we were children,

Our smiles undaunted.
