Author's note:

This is just a little something to let everyone know I didn't die or anything dramatic. I've got finals and I can't write or publish as fast as I would like to. So here is a treat for you all. :) p.s. This is dedicated to your taste of stardust. Her poems really inspired me.

Our Piano

It stands solid and grounded in my space

Filling holes only ivory may rest in

Leaping in sordid anticipation

My heart becomes a metronome

For my fingers all trimmed in lace

"They might as well be hearts strings"

I thought

Both mine and yours

As we play side by side

Your arm brushes my soul by mistake

And my veins weep because it was bliss

My fingers race your own across oceans of

Keys that unlock doors to empty rooms

That should never have been discovered

Higher we climb passing notes and cracking wood

Our initials were carved in the side

We play untill our hands

Are as cracked and broken as our melody

Blood seeps from our fingernails

Creating pools we may dip into

A violent ending that echos our absence

Trace scarlet fingerprints on our piano
