The Very First Page

By: Elizabeth Truong

Waves of buzzing distractions

Disrupt soothing crashes

Of oceanic waves.

Ocean blues flowing like their love

Opening the depths of souls

Into territories unknown.

Lights pierce like echoes of whispers

Caving into ever densening

Silence.

Binding pages of lives

Two in one

Onto empty canvases.

The first consists of lips

His and his, locked in space.

Like a tableau churning grey,

It engraves itself upon

The very first page.

Frozen in eternity.
