Chapter 3: The Dream

I opened my eyes slowly and I found myself lying on the cold ground. But wait, the ground wasn't the normal floor in my house. I sat up and looked around. The place was cold even though there was no breeze, there was nothing but darkness. I got off from the ground and walked around. I roamed, but why? Was I looking for a reason why I'm here, in this dreadful, dark place? I stopped to think.

This is stupid; if this is a dream then I'll just try to wake myself up… I pinched my cheeks as hard as I can. I kept pinching them until they turned red. I rubbed them and I looked around again.

"Where am I?" I asked myself and a luminous light shined in front of me. It was too bright that I had to block the light away from my eyes with my hand. I squinted for a better vision. I saw a glowing figure that was floating in the air. It landed gently on the ground, standing straight up.

Is it a human? No, I think it's not... I thought and wings ascended from its back. My eyes widened in shock, what is it?

"You're in a dream," it finally said, with a girl voice.

It must be a girl then, what a beautiful voice she has… I stared at her vividly, waiting for something to happen.

"I know that," I told her, staring straight at her eyes. "But why am I dreaming about this?"

She paused for a moment. Her angelic wings had outshine the darkness that surrounded us. I didn't bother about the freaky darkness, what bothered me was her appearance. She looked much like a human but I felt that she wasn't which is easy because of her white wings. Her silver-ish, blondish hair fit her white with gold dress.

"I was sent here…" She said in a proper manner, staring back at me with her ocean blue eyes so seriously.

"You're not answering my question," I said, pissed off.

She came closer to me and told me, "Patience,"

"You're telling me to be patient?!" I laughed, getting impatient. "That's ridiculous!"

The girl smiled slyly. My laughter stopped, why was she smiling? That made me grin, what a dream this is.

"You've become different," she said, disappointed. "But I will help you."

What the heck is she talking about?! What a weird woman! I thought and I calmed down a little. Hmmm…Maybe I should be patient, anyways, what is she up to?

"What do you mean by that?" I asked her in a polite voice. "Are you here to tell me something…Like let's say…About angels?"

The girl's eyes widened and she continued to smile. She giggled like a little girl and said, "You learn fast…"

"I do," I bragged like a proud mom. "Who sent you here?"

"God did," the angel replied in a voice that made me suspicious.

"I think I can understand why," I told her honestly which surprised her.

"And why is that?" she asked in a soft tone. She waited patiently for my response. I looked down at the ground. The angel tilted her head at an angle to see my face. I smiled when I looked at her confused expression.

She's like a little kid… I thought which made me giggle quietly.

"I've always had dreams of angels…" I said with a sad smile. "I don't have any parents and I don't even know how I was born…" The angel's expression turned into pity.

I'm pathetic; I can't believe I'm telling her about this… I thought to myself with a tear in my eye.

"There is no recorded data of my past and I'm not related to anyone…" I continued telling her, showing my weakness. "I'm lonely…" I cried quietly and the angel gave me a hug. Her soft body calmed down my tears that fell from my eyes.

"You're not alone," she told me, which was a good way to comfort me.

"I know that," I said which made her let go of me and look into my eyes with curiosity. "That's because I met Suzu-chan…" I smiled and the angel had an upset look.

"That Suzu-chan…" she said to herself and looked away. "She told you, huh?"

"Yeah…" I replied, looking down at the ground. I looked up at her, this time seriously. I continued, "She told me that I'm…that I'm a fallen angel who's wandering around for nothing but hope…And this is the mark of it." I showed her by pulling up my hair and letting her see the half black and half white cross on the back of my neck.

"Yeah…" the angel said, sadly. "But did she tell you that-"

"That I'm the rarest angel?" I finished her question. She put on a pitiful face again and looked away, not wanting to see my sad face.

"I see…" the angel said. She smiled, maybe she thought of something. "Then I'll help you,"

"Help me?" I asked in an astonished voice.

How can she help me? I thought to myself, her response was so straightforward.

"Yeah, since God sent me to help you…" She answered my question. "But…"

"But what?" I asked, eager for more. I needed to hear what she had to say. She turned her head to see my expression. She smiled at my eager face.

"But I'm going to need approval by the Council of Angels and the Court of Justice," she told me which sounded risky and dangerous.

"I'm up for it," I encouraged her, making a fist full of courage. She smiled and took out a…cell phone? She dialed a number and put the cell phone to her ear.

"Hello, is this Tadashi? Oh, good. This is Arisa. Is the council free? Then can you arrange a meeting? Thank you very much!" Arisa hanged up and put her cell phone away. She smiled at me and stated, "A meeting is being arranged in two days, so I need you to rest."

"Okay," I replied, happily. "Thank you, Arisa…" I looked at her gratefully and she blushed.

"It's no problem, Hikari Oshiro," she said and elevated off the ground and flew above me slowly.

"How do you know my name?!" I asked her loudly as she flew farther away.

"Because I've always admired you before you became a fallen angel, Ms. Oshiro!" she answered back in a loud voice that made me able to hear her response. She flew through a shining light that must've been a portal. The portal was circular and bright. I watched her fly through it and disappear.

Always admired me, huh? I asked myself, I couldn't wait. I smiled and the darkness that surrounded me turned into brightness and that brightness turned into hope for a future.

I closed my eyes, still smiling, and faded away. I opened my eyes and sat up from my creaky bed.

"What a dream…" I said and smiled with a giggle.
