my roots have stretched
beyond their own grounds
my vines have
intertwined with yours
my simple hollow mind
has been filled with words

and i can't help but listen
to the earth and its sounds
or let the summer sun
soak into my pores
while my branches are home
to curious song birds

we are meadowing trees,
the grass beneath our leaves
we are the flowers and the bees
that all live in harmony.
