Basically, each chapter is a one-shot/drabble thing. And they will be very short one-shots/drabble things. Enjoy (maybe) and write a review (hopefully).

I didn't think too deeply about the moving van pulling into the driveway across the street. The house had been for sale for weeks. The only thought that ran through my mind was surprise at how quickly they sold it.

It was a young couple. The woman was a beautiful blonde. A professional, I assumed. She'd wear a suit to work. We'd politely nod at one another each morning as she got into her car and I got into mine.

My destination was high school. I didn't like it there. I felt alone and lost. No one saw me. I was ignored and the loneliness was slowly killing me.

My life dramatically changed when I saw Him. He was cleaning his motorcycle; white suds drained into the street. I was cleaning the trash out of my car.

We exchanged glances. I politely nodded. He gave me a smile. A strange feeling bounced around in my stomach.

We began talking. First, it was about the neighborhood; restaurants and sights of interest. Then, it became personal.

It got too personal.

Then, it became wrong. It got sick.

I gave him everything. He was the only one to acknowledge me. As a young girl, I was confused. I felt worthless. He gave my life a purpose.

He also gave me slaps across the face or punches to the stomach. He made me believe that I was the one who was wrong and I deserved to be punished.

I believed every word that came from those lips. He was my world. Everyone else ignored me.

One night, his wife went out with friends. He told me to come over. He got drunk and abusive. He raped me.

I told him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. Then, I threatened to leave him. He got on his hands and knees. He begged me not to leave.

He pulled out a knife and thrust the blade against his wrist. He said he'd kill himself if I left him. I told him that I wasn't going to change my mind.

There was so much blood.

He screamed at me. He told me to call an ambulance or he was going to die.

I didn't move. I watched as the blood stained the carpet. His breathing became erratic. He paled.

I left the house before he died. He watched me leave him there all alone.

No one will ever know.
