"My Name Is Ella"
He brought my slipper back to me, that brave and handsome prince. He went through my evil Stepmother and gave it back to me. Then he told me that I was his one and only. He told me that he wanted to marry me, to make me happy, to make me a Queen. My dreams came true! I'm finally someone in this world. I am the fiancé of a prince! Prince Charming has been by far the best man I've ever known. I can't believe this is happening to me!
It took me a couple of minutes to pack all of my things. I didn't have much.
"Ready?" He asked me as I jumped into the carriage. I could only smile. This was the best day of my life! It was, at least, until I got to the castle. I arrived shortly after sun down. The prince called for a servant to take my things to his room, which amused me at first. I wondered what use my things would be in his room. After we had supper in the King's grand hall, we retired. I still did not understand why my things would be in his room. Why wasn't I given my own room?
My beloved Prince Charming led me to his bedroom, grabbed my neck, and kissed me lightly as he threw me into the room, slamming the door behind him. He had a look of venom in his eyes as he approached me. I was paralyzed with fear. Was he going to kill me? Is this how my life ends? He looked at me square in the eyes as he kept drawing nearer. He lifted his hands in a form of mock surrender, or so I thought. His lips parted.
"Let's play!" he said with a girlish giggle as he ran past me and flopped down on his bed. "I can never play this with anyone!"
I looked at him with curiosity. "Play?"
"Yes Cinderellla! Let's play!"
I looked at him boldly and said "My name is Ella. And I am not here to be your playmate you silly boy! If you are going to appreciate me in no other sense than that, then I am afraid I am living."
The Prince looked at me with a strange sadness, but did not block the way. So I left him the very day I came. I asked him to tell the other's I had died, so that I may start a new life. I will never be Cinderella again. My name is Ella, and that is the way it shall stay.
