Bluffton
They were high-school heroes, All-State players
Always led their teams in the Lord's Prayer
And how does their Lord, the Almighty, repay them?
He leaves them for dead on a bus in Atlanta
They say that good things happen to those who pray
But how can that be with what happened that day?
It just goes to show when you ask for His grace
You can pray all you want doesn't mean that you're safe
They say they were lucky to survive like they did
The same can't be said for those who are dead
But if they were lucky they'd be happy like us
Instead of wishing they weren't on that bus
They say that good things happen to those who pray
But how can that be with what happened that day?
It just goes to show when you ask for His grace
You can pray all you want doesn't mean that you're safe
It seems to me life's pretty damn cruel
You can say it's all planned, but don't be a fool
And remember to live your life day to day
Because the end ain't close but it ain't far away
