A/N:Alright. So I've found a recurring theme in my stories, all the main characters tend to be male musicians. So I figured I might as well use that, and make a story. The chapters will most likely all be pretty short until I get into the swing of things and the plot actually starts happening. Hopefully that'll be soon!

Enjoy!

Intro

I looked out into the audience at my roommate, and now girlfriend and winked. She grinned back at me, while singing along to the song. I would have never gotten here without her. I smiled to myself, letting myself play on autopilot while I remembered when she first discovered my love for writing songs.

"Hayden…what are these?" She smiled wickedly at me before turning the page and beginning to read out loud. "Oh baby, I never could have-" I cut her off by making a grab for the note book.

"Arianna, give that back. I'm not kidding." I did my best to glare at her, but she was making it increasingly difficult with the way she was smiling innocently at me. "How did you get that?"

"Well your room is always such a mess! I was just cleaning a little bit. Why didn't you tell me you write songs? Some of these are actually really good."

I sighed. "I didn't tell you, because I didn't want you to know. Now give it back please."

"But these are amazing! Do you sing them yourself? Do you play an instrument? God! I've known you for years and I didn't know this about you. I'm in shock!"

"Oh relax. Not many people know. I play the guitar and the piano, and yes, I sing them myself."

"Sing one for me. No, Hayden. I'm not going to give up until you do, and you know how stubborn I am."

I protested at first of course, but finally sang one of my newer songs. She convinced me to play it at an open mic night, the bar close to our apartment was holding, and to my surprise, people actually liked it. From there it escalated to me playing whole shows on my own, which is where I am now.

I turned my attention back to the song in time for the last chorus. The song ended and the crowd cheered. Every time I played a set, and the audience actually liked it, I remembered how I got here, and who got me here, and I had to smile. Because although I may not be famous yet, I'm on my way, and I'm loving every minute of it.
