STRANGER

there you go again,
passing my window the same as you do
nearly every other day.

you walk quickly,
walking your dog,
carrying books,
and carefully avoiding me
as i peek through the blinds
to see you.

i've noticed
that you wear the same two shirts
quite often,
that you always part your hair
to the left,
that you are patient
with your little sister,
and can't keep up with the mutt.

but tomorrow,
when i see you at school
you are just another stranger.
