A soft spoken girl once upon a time,

screams as she's smothered by his icy arms.

She will never let go of his hand,

even as the invincible machine

sucks her body into its broken skeleton--

sorrow's blackness drags them in.

A honey bee dives into the deep blue—

this yellow diver comes to sting her broken heart.

Will she feel the pain in the freezing crush?

To take her beloved's hand was all she ever wanted,

but we know she did not come back with much.

Now she sleeps were frost dare not venture,

perhaps because of a foolish wager.

Now her soul dreams of a place way up high

where the fireflies dance in the midnight blue--

where she wishes was not the last place she saw you.
