An idea I got a few days ago. Review, and I'll update. Simple as that. Remember that I try to respond to every single review I get some way or another. All right. Happy reading!!

"Come on, Claire!" my dad shouted. "Talk!"

"You're scaring her," my mom muttered. I stared at the two of them, feeling quite bored.

My dad, John, glared at her. "Don't tell me what to do, Candice. I can handle this."

"Yes, you've done a great job so far," she snapped.

This was why I didn't speak. If I ever tried to say anything, I got cut off by yelling and fighting. So I haven't talked in three weeks. I'm just eleven years old. It wasn't that hard to quit talking. I barely spoke anyway. My parents would have been oblivious to the new changes in me had the principal of my school not interfered. She was concerned, naturally, but she really had no reason getting into my business.

So far, I was wishing she hadn't said anything. This was only causing more trouble.

But, oh well. No turning back now. I finally understood the saying, "Silence is golden." It was. I could say what I wanted in my mind. No one else needed to know what I wanted, what I thought. Just me.

That was how it always was. And it always will be.

All right. I know it was so, so short, but this is the prologue. The next chapter will be when she's sixteen. So please review if you want more! I think this story will be a really good one, so I'd like to keep writing it, but again, that decision is made by my readers.

XO,
