Trouble plagues the weary heart.
A wounded soul struggles;
For passage out of the dark.
A defiant mind fights to defend what is right.
And a gentle spirit in fear takes flight.
Deluded contortions of a twisted reality
A blindness that comes only from seeing the light.
And a silent wish that falls upon deafened ears.
Alone, an innocent girl who sheds bloody tears.
Where is this justice?
The one that you proclaim?
Is it protecting her
Or cowering in vain?
Freedom is taken, never given.
Strength is only borrowed, and never bought.
The illusion you seek is that, only sought.
For nothing in life is free.
The end of the road is near.
Will you defend her, or let her drown in her tears?
Is her one life alone, enough to make you act?
Or will you, with everyone else only cry after the fact.
