With a Smile

A cursed man,

Destined to find love,

But never have it.

You were my savior.

You were the cure

For this shattered heart of mine.

You grabbed the pieces,

With an unknowing hand,

And put it back together,

Made me whole.

With you I was complete.

But then I learned

The hand that held your heart

Was not mine.

You smiled and turned

The glue was undone,

Not knowing the pain you caused.

The pieces are scattered

Now I know,

My curse remains

To feel regret's cold embrace,

And never love.
