Loneliness

Loneliness – seeing a bird abandoned

Fallen, cold, unable to go on

Loneliness – the sound of the final breath

Of an elder when he is gone

Loneliness – the scent of your perfume

When you're no longer there

Loneliness – feeling cold in a warm bed

Alone in a nightmare

Loneliness – tasting victory

But it doesn't seem sweet anymore

Loneliness – waiting, listening, watching

Just outside your door
