Sweet Styrofoam

When we were young, you
Asked me where does the snow go, when
It melts

I could not answer then
As we watched it fall
Joining its friends for a spell

Now you wonder, where does the time go
Look at your watch, and remember
You have things to do
Thank me for the cocoa, turn
Cast yourself through the slush

Trampling over years and clear days
Each snowfall lets my lids close
And remember you, mittened
And me, smitten
And your two questions
Lost in the snow
