you said you liked my poetry
so I started writing more.
(of course that's a lie)
I would never write poetry,
for you
(as opposed to because of you).
because that would be
stupid.
because!
if there's anything I've
learned (actually learned)
over the years it's
this:
"writing poetry and
falling in love, are too similar
and often become one."
and if the proper precautions
are not taken
heartbreak
is inevitable.
(and the worst part?)
the 120 poems
with his name written all over them.
because you read them.
and re-read them,
over
and over.
until you are
completely unraveled.
(inside and out)
