The Forgotten Pathway

Call me old fashioned,

Call me a fool.

The pain I have rationed,

I'm breaking your rule.

Assaulted 'til I'm barely breathin',

Holding strong to what I believe in.

Ignoring all the insults you say,

Walking down this forgotten pathway.

---

I'm taking the road everyone has forgotten,

The flowers and grass are all brown and rotten.

And now still to this very day,

I'm walking down alone this forgotten pathway.

---

I'm moving on though I am weary,

Though the things ahead may be scary.

I'm still walking the path not caring,

Yet all you can do is stand there staring.

I'm hanging on to my ancient beliefs,

My roots run down to ancient chiefs.

Oblivious to the obstacles ahead,

I'll keep holding on until I'm dead.

---

I'm taking the road everyone has forgotten,

The flowers and grass are all brown and rotten.

And now still to this very day,

I'm walking down alone this forgotten pathway.

---

You can laugh and jeer,

And I'll show you that I have no fear.

You can strike and pound,

And you'll see no weakness can be found.

I don't care if I stop breathin',

I'm standing up for what I believe in.

And until the end of my days,

I'll be walking down alone this forgotten pathway.
