It sits, watching you with mocking eyes.
Laughing at your discontent,
Knowing your incompetence, to leave it to its silence.

There it lies, tempting,
Tempting you to rip it up,
Knowing that you cannot help but do what you must do.

You wield your weapon, tensing,
And your eyes suddenly unfocus,
As it casts it's dark spell, and hypnotizes you, waves of tiredness come.

You cannot sleep, you must not,
You must kill it, you must stab,
Stab with your unlikely weapon, until the monster dies.

You find your strength, at last.
And steeling yourself,
You flex your mind to find the words, to banish your nightmare.

The pen comes down,
The words are written,
The homework, your nemesis, is dead at last.
