everything is flipped around
switched quietly without a sound

salty tears fell from above
the sea was raining from the sky
sky was resting beside our feet

we're walking on the sun rays
shadows above our heads
like flashlight stories in the woods

stars are spotlights on our path
clouds are all fog in our shoes
but we are the same, in this crazy place

every blink was a new turn to the kaleidoscope
common sense through the wrong end of a telescope

wide-eyed in midday rain,
sun soaking up the ocean's pain
the mountains within a finger's reach
smelling of pine and oak without the climb

the world was turned around
i closed my eyes and heard the sound.
