Hi. So, I just wrote this like literally a couple of minutes ago. I was… well, a bit upset. The whole poem is about the idea of being average, or ordinary, and you feel like everyone else around you has so much more potential than you do. Kind of a depressing topic, but I know a lot of people who can relate, and don't feel like they're good enough. It took me – not even joking – 5 minutes to write this. It's not great, but I thought it was worth posting. Thanks for reading, and please review!
It is currently untitled, so I'm going to ask for suggestions. Any good names?
Untitled:
Tread that middle.
Ordinary known.
Don't forget that water
moves on its own.
Can you see me
waiting upon an endless line?
Unapparent to those in front of me,
uncaring to those behind.
Tread that middle
of the long golden chain.
Work until you bleed
under that raucous rain.
Can you see me?
A wish under the moon
of recognition and reward.
Won't come true soon.
Tread that middle.
Get lost in the sea.
Clench the treasure box.
Find the golden key.
Break the line above me.
Unlink the chain of prize.
Follow the path of water.
See me surface, see me rise.
