Every night, I stay cold
Staring up into old light
A chasm stuck beneath the dark

I am the statue

The one that faces west
Toward your warm estate

See your candles wax and wane
A window pane to where I want

The embers dim and you within
Seem not to note me out

One starburst later, beyond, I hope
An open door, and close, you come

To let me leave my waiting pose
To enter in your waiting arms
