Before David could reply, my cell rang. I ran to pick it up.
"Hello?" I said.
"Mira? It is Mandy!"
"Oh my gosh, hey Mandy! I was just thinking about you!", I turned around to see Ana and David,
"Hold on.".
I cupped the receiver with my left and and said to them, "Yes, that was my friend Mandy...", "One of the people who will join us" continued Ana "that is why she is calling, put her on speaker.".
"What was that?" asked Mandy, now on speaker.
"Oh, uh, nothing.", I said and Ana raised her brow.
"I had a dream, it was you, your cousin Ana and a sexy blond man, and you needed me to help you, I called Alyssa and she weirdly had the same dream as me, we talked and decided to drive over there but no one answered when we called your house, what's up? where are you?".
David had left and came back with the textbook, he pointed at a part of the prophecy:
two others will find out soon
when they need to move.
My eyes widened.
"Actually yes," I said into the phone. "We are in Ottawa, can Alyssa drive you up today?"
"Yes, she is her usual self, ready for anything, she has been more adventurous since May.". Mandy's voice dropped but I knew Kim wasn't really dead so it didn't have the usual impact on me. I gave Mandy the address that Ana had scrawled on a paper than passed to me.
"Bring each a sleeping bag, pillow and enough clothes for two weeks as well as whatever other necessities: Laptop, toiletry ect.". I instucted "We will explain everything when you guys arive.".
"Okay, see you in about two hours.".
Alyssa called me a minute ago, they are less than 5 minutes away, I am pacing back and forth, back and forth across the living room. "will you relax? Everything will be OK, they will listen and believe us." said Ana, her eyes following me. I continued pacing, "Did you predict that?, I said sarcastically, I have every reason to be nervous. Ana rolled her almond-shaped eyes "No, I'm smart.", she retorted.
The buzzer rang and David got up, "Saved by the bell." he said. After Alyssa said she and Mandy were on their way up here, I went outside to greet them. When we saw each other we wrapped ourselves in a big hug, I hadn't seen them since we graduated in two weeks ago in june, it was really emotional as we all gave a speech for Kim and sang a song we wrote for her. I introduced them to David and Ana brought us some drinks.
"So," said Alyssa, "What's up?
David and I produced a series of "Ums" but Ana, being the outspoken type of girl got up to show them the book to my friends.
We went through the same process they had done for me, Alyssa and Mandy's eyes widening at every sentence.
Ana looked up, her soprano voice sounding weirdly strong: "Will you help us?", she asked my friends.
"Yes.", they replied in unison, their voice tones matching each other's. I smiled at them both, knowing first-hand what they were feeling, about this, about Kim and about her "murder".
