the light was missing from the room
grey clouds overlapped in the dark sky
the night had come, before the day was done

heat shrank from the air and left it chilly
wind rose at the chance to steal the show
soon the poor sky's tears will shower the sidewalks

until the air grows moist, the cold will sink in
the freeze will rest right under my skin
chilling, from the inside out
giving us something to whine about

the clothes on my back werent enough to man the storm
your arms around me at least kept my mind off of the cold
but shivering and shaking can't be ignored
even when trying to feel warm and adored
