A girl wandered through the park, her sunset colored hair danced around her heart shaped face with the wind and cascaded down her back in soft ringlets. She was breath takingly beautiful with skin the color of the finest ivory and her rosy facial features with soft gentleness to them, her eyes the color of emeralds framed with long elegant lashes.

"Psyche hurry up!" called Layla, one of her two older sisters, Layla along with their sister Elizabeth had hair of a plain shade of mahogany and their eyes a dull green.

"I'm coming!" she answered in a voice that sounded like soothing bells. Psyche sped her pace, passing by a family of barons of whom turned to see her, the males smiled,

"Well won't you look at that. A plain girl with the beauty of Aphrodite, or maybe even more beautiful."

They knew it was wrong to compare such a girl to their own but in truth it was rare for one to come upon such a normal beauty. The platinum blonde female who had been with them followed their gaze and scoffed.

"You compare me to a plain teen girl, she is not of our family" snapped Aphrodite, her dress for that evening was a flowing white gown that ended above the knee, her hair pulled up in a bun at the top of her head and her face held a rosy tint to her fair skin. Her sea green eyes looked at Psyche with malice that could melt the Michigan snow that covered the ground and continued to fall.

"Cupid" she called as she glanced around, looking for her mischievous son. Of whom she finally found laying in a tree staring at the birds that flew by, a serene smile playing on his lips.

"Yes mother?"

he asked without looking down, he'd know her expensive perfume of roses anywhere. His golden blonde hair fell in front of half of his face allowing only one sky blue eye to show.

"Come down here"

she ordered and he obeyed, jumping down with marvelous grace that complimented his lean frame, his white long coat the shade of snow billowed behind him, giving it the appearance of wings, which along with his angelic features gave him the appearance of an angel.

Aphrodite smiled; she knew that her son would not fail her in what she desired.

"That's a good boy, now listen to mommy. I want you to follow that auburn haired girl and make sure she gets into a little accident."

She laughed darkly and Cupid held his face downcast as he replied,

"I understand"

His gaze shifted towards the auburn haired girl that made her way to the street, he followed close behind in the shadows, creeping ever so slowly and with great stealth.

The sun setting and as the girl made her way onto the street to cross, his hand came down hard against the back of her neck causing her to fall limp to the ground. As he turned to leave however he caught a glimpse of the beauty that his mother so envied in this normal girl, leaving him in awe.

The blaring of a horn brought him from his thoughts, a car barreling towards the fallen girl, an angel to his eyes, his heart jumped, he knew that he'd never be able to go through with what his mother wished. This girl didn't deserve such a fate and without a second thought he gathered her into his arms, jumping out of the way just as the car was mere feet away. Cupid struck the cement, shielding her from the impact with his body, his forehead bled slightly as he placed her gently underneath the shade of a tree.

"Forgive me"

He whispered as he walked away.

Psyche woke with a start, she found herself in her room,

"How did I get here?"

she thought, her neck throbbed in pain as she sat up. Her comforter had been kicked off in her sleep and her legs were tangled in her sheets.

As she brought herself to her feet she remembered that she'd been about to cross the street when something hand struck her on the neck. She didn't know what happened next only that an angel with a voice of the finest velvet spoke,

"Forgive me"

Those words echoed in her mind, who wanted her to forgive them, and why?

Her mind reeled with questions that she couldn't answer.

Psyche knew that she wanted to meet this angel and find out why he wanted forgiveness from her.

Time went by and after a few months her sisters married and had left home, Psyche meanwhile still wandered aimlessly, males would give her compliments though they were just that, for they always ended up with someone else.

As these things happened around her, her mind pondered the angelic male she'd encountered those few months back.

Meanwhile at the Millennium house hold, Aphrodite was throwing a fit,

"Cupid ! I had trusted you with disposing the girl and you failed me!"

Cupid ignored her as he stared at the doves in a heart shaped cage, his mother's "love doves" as she called them.

"What's worse is that you've fallen for her haven't you!" she shouted.

His thoughts continued else where until his mother said something that shook the very foundation on which he stood on.

"Even if you do love her, will she love you or just the fact that you're from the wealthiest family in all of Michigan?"

She smirked as pain flitted across his face.

"Will she love me for me?"

he thought, pain filled his chest at any negative thoughts that answered, he decided that he'd test if they could have a relationship on faith, to see if she could love him without knowing his identity.

That night as he lay in his room he called his friend Apollo to give the sunset haired girl a poem.

Apollo had agreed and went to look for a girl that had fit the description of which Cupid had given him.

He came upon her at the public school, what a sight, a diamond against coal and lesser gems.

The girl's emerald green eyes came upon him and he couldn't help himself from blushing slightly at her exquisite beauty.

"A girl as fine as yourself doesn't deserve any of the boys in this school, neither handsome nor plain but one of a rare kind" He said as he held out an envelope,

"For you"

And without another word he walked off, leaving her there alone.

Psyche looked at the poem that was written to her,

it was signed with the initials

C. E. M.

She didn't know anybody with a name that started with those letters and the way the poem was written caused her heart to race, the words so heart felt it warmed her.

A note fell from the poem and she read it,

"Meet me at the park at nine, don't bring a light"

She wondered why he didn't want a light though didn't ponder it for long.

That night as her parents lay sleeping she snuck out the front door and down the sleeping streets until she arrived at the park, the night quiet and pleasant. A cool breeze blew by, causing her hair to dance in the wind. A figure in a black hoodie approached her, his face obscured by the shadows,

"Don't be afraid, I'm the one who summoned you"

Spoke a familiar voice, her eyes widened slightly, it was the same voice that belonged to the person that had spoken to her months prior, her heart filled with love towards this unknown person.

Psyche didn't know why but something about this male pulled her in, she knew that this was the one for her.

"I've called you here tonight to say that I love you"

Continued the figure,

"Though I hope you'll forgive me of hiding my face, I have a condition that doesn't allow me to see light of any kind"

She nodded, completely understanding.

For months they dated though after some time they got married and got an average modern day Victorian house.

Cupid would be with her in the night though would vanish before the dawn and rising sun.

She knew nothing of her husband's face let alone of who he was.

He came to her after weeks spent in happiness,

"I've heard that your sisters will be coming for a visit, careful of what you say to them, It could bring us great displeasure and suffering"

Psyche had only stared at the shadow, not knowing what to say, she'd given up all her ties to her family to be with him and yet she still had to keep secrets from them, she didn't want to agree though she nodded and as her sisters arrived they hugged her and shrieked in happiness at seeing each other after such a long while.

Though as they looked at their younger sister's home, Jealousy filled their hearts,

They asked her questions on who her husband was and how he looked like; Psyche tried her best to answer them. She told them he was handsome and quite the gentlemen, only using what she knew from his physical appearance and the sound of his voice. Her sisters shared a glance before speaking,

"You've never seen his face have you"

She froze, they'd hit the nail right on the head and they knew it.

"What if he's hideously disfigured? Or a murderer of a kind?" said Elizabeth,

"Maybe a rapist" said Layla.

Psyche's heart filled with doubt towards Cupid as her sisters continued to list what he could be until finally she broke down crying.

"W-What can I do?" she wailed, they smirked mentally though held looks of concern on their faces,

"You must shine a light at his face, then if he is the way we've described you must run, we'll wait for you"

Hours after they left Psyche was torn at the thought of harming her dear husband of whom she loved so deeply, no she hated him, despised him for if he was what her sisters had said he was then why had he played her on like this?

That night as Cupid slept, she pointed a flashlight at his face, her eyes widened as she took in his beauty, and blonde locks of hair fell in front of his angelic face that was of ivory skin, his face seemed to have been sculpted by the finest of hands.

A tear fell from her face as his beauty, oh how foolish she'd been to believe that her sweet husband could have been such a beast. Her tear fell upon his face, stirring him from his slumber.

Cupid's eyes shot open at the sight of the light, he looked at Psyche with a pained look before bolting from the room, Psyche followed only to hear his voice call on the wind telling her who he was,

"I thought we could have loved each other but there can't be love without trust in one another"

She fell to her knees crying,

"Why'd I have to listen? Why?"

She thought, her heart tearing with every passing moment that they spent apart, the gap growing bigger.

Psyche knew that she loved him deeply and that she'd do anything to be with him.

"If I must I'll go to his mother Aphrodite and beg for forgiveness"

she said as she stood on unsteady legs, her face streaked with tears.

Aphrodite sighed as she left her son's room with yet another plate of untouched food, he hadn't eaten in the past three days and she'd began to worry.

"You know starving yourself won't do anything"

"I don't care"

Cupid mumbled, his gaze fixed upon the "love doves" as they nestled each other causing his heart to ache, he placed his head over his trash bin as he coughed up the meager contents that remained in his stomach,

"You're heart sick"

Mumbled Aphrodite, as she stroked her son's hair from his eyes.

"That girl didn't deserve you anyways"

Cupid groaned, he didn't feel well and hadn't since he'd left Psyche.

"Leave me mother"

Aphrodite nodded though left a glass of water by his bed.

As she left the room the doorbell rang, and standing in the doorway was none other than the girl who had put her son into such a miserable state.

"Well, well if it isn't Psyche Trinity"

She sneered, Psyche looked down,

"I'm sorry for what I've done"

She mumbled, Aphrodite scoffed,

"Sorry! Sorry doesn't cut it, my son is suffering and it's your entire fault, if you want to regain his trust you must first complete tasks for me and see if he'll take you back"

Psyche nodded,

"I will do anything it takes Lady Aphrodite"

Aphrodite smirked, a dark intent given off by her.

She walked over to the spice rack and knocked all of the bottles over, spilling their contents all over the kitchen and in every small space there was,

"Clean this mess before I return from the store with more"

she stated as she walked off leaving Psyche in mounds of uncertainty.

Psyche slid to her knees, it was impossible to clean all of this up within a few hours, it would take days to fully clean everything.

Cupid who had wandered down the stairs to retrieve his back pack saw her suffering and glanced at the maids and butlers that worked for the baron families.

"Master Cupid you should be in bed" scolded one of the maids, he shook his head,

"I'll go but help Psyche please"

he whispered as to not allow the sunset haired female to overhear him.

The house staff nodded and went into the kitchen where they began helping Psyche clean the spices.

As Cupid saw how dedicated Psyche was to be with him, he felt a tad bit better than before and smiled softly though continued to his room.

Aphrodite returned within three hours to find the kitchen spotless and not a single spice anywhere to be seen, she seethed,

"You had help"

Psyche said nothing as Aphrodite continued,

"You must go to Phospherone tomorrow and ask her for medicine for I have grown weary of caring for Cupid, whom you were to blame for making him sick"

Aphrodite glanced at Psyche, her sea green eyes cold.

"You will sleep on the floor; it'll do for the likes of you"

Psyche nodded her face an unreadable mask void of any emotion.

As Psyche slept, Cupid snuck from his room and kneeled besides her, stroking her hair as he whispered to her, knowing it would carry to her dreams,

"You must pay Charon to gain entrance to Phospherone's estate, to get past their dog you must throw a treat in an opposite direction to the one you're headed"

She mumbled in her sleep,

"I love you"

Cupid blushed faintly and placed a gentle kiss against her rosy lips before retiring to his room once more.

He collapsed onto his bed and slept with a smile for the first time since he'd gotten sick.

Psyche walked to Phospherone's estate with an energy she hadn't had since Cupid had left, she'd heard him in her dreams and knew that it was a sign that he still loved and cared deeply for her as well.

As she approached the gate she was approached by an elder man with sallow features, giving him the appearance of a skeleton covered in just papery skin.

He held out his hand, and she dropped the money within the boney fingers,

"Charon, please if you will I need to see lady Phospherone"

Charon opened the gate allowing her access into the yard and as soon as she walked in barking was heard, Psyche froze and reached for the treat she'd brought and threw it far from her, the dog Cerberus followed it allowing her to pass through the yard with ease and enter the grand front door into the mansion.

Lady Phospherone had been more than willing to give Lady Aphrodite a hand by doing her this favor, she told Psyche,

"Take this box straight back to Aphrodite, the medicine shall help her and her son."

Psyche pondered what kind of medicine it might be, her curiosity getting the better of her judgment causing her to open the box.

Inside was no medicine but a poison that was fatal to inhale.

The box fell from Psyche's hands as she collapsed to the ground.

Cupid who had been reminiscing the first night they'd spent together in the park as he walked through it noticed Psyche laying on the ground, the box open.

He ran up, his heart racing in panic, she'd inhaled one of the deadly poisons used as a security against others who weren't in the baron families. Cradling her into his arms he poured an antidote into his mouth and kissed her, allowing the liquid to fall into her mouth, her emerald green eyes opened and she kissed back, holding him as if it may be the last time they'd get to embrace.

Cupid smiled and pulled back,

"Oh my curious little soul"

He chuckled lightly with relief.

"Oh Eros my great love"

He gathered her into his arms and carried her to the main house amongst the estates and called forth his grandfather, Zeus Trinnean.

"What is it Cupid?" asked Zeus.

"Grandfather, I ask of you to allow Psyche into our family as a true member"

Answered Cupid as he kneeled,

Zeus smiled and glanced at the sunset haired girl who stood besides his grandson. He poured a glass of wine and handed it to Psyche,

"I shall bless you into our family as our own, your bond to my grandson shall always remain and must never waver and sever"

She nodded as she drank the glass, accepting the fate that was decided for her and Cupid, her beloved.

Psyche and Cupid lay in their bed, Cupid holding Psyche in his arms as she held a bundle of pink blankets, from the blankets the face of an infant peeked out, strawberry blonde hair and blue-green eyes, a blend of her parents in every way,

"Hey little one" cooed Psyche.

Cupid stroked the child's hair,

"Welcome to our family, our little Bliss"
