Kneeling Trees

Trees feel most at ease
When teased with rain
It seeps into each so completely
That they strengthen to show off their state

Time tickles each with a clock overhead
How long will each happy trunk last
As long as it takes, answers one navy limb
And the other trees make up fine masts

So they sail on the water for a time and a day
Searching out new soil to seep into
But these roots are sown deep
And it's here that I'll keep
Knowing she will wash clean over me
