Your Very Own Shining Armour

I swore to return to the kingdom
Once all the monsters left
Under a steady blade
The one I kept
Sometime at my side
So to the battle drawn
I went to form and change

The cattle need to feed
The cows' silk is milk
And my beat is as pure

Feet flailing over flame
Such is the forceful path
As war recovers, rekindles
Remodels the molder of inaction
Some images I keep from the front
Of half-found corpses
Finding my face among the fallen
Only in fleeted thoughts
The kind that make me mad

It's been many months
I think spring has sprung
And new grass rises

I lumber home anew
The colour and the city I knew
Changed as I am blue
Lost thoughts have changed and who
Have you been
