I care more than you'll ever know,
but don't worry 'cause
I'll follow behind
and it'll never show.
The timing sucks,
The people ain't so sweet,
They're filling up on
stupid jokes,
Cracking knuckles,
Playing cards,
Smoking cigarettes,
Dealing weed.
No such thing as a bad person,
Only people who do bad things
Sometimes.
And you gotta know,
It isn't always about you,
And everything's eventually
gonna turn out (hopefully)
Fine.
There are many reasons
We cannot see.
We're blind to who we are,
And none of us have the perfect conception of
What we'll turn into,
Who we will be.
There's more to time
Than we give,
Less to reason,
Than we live.
The answers don't always
lie in trilogies,
Sometimes we find them sneak into our
daydreams.
Problems come with solutions,
And we preach them to the core,
What we find we cannot teach,
Just 'cause it's such a chore.
Messes sweep into broomsticks,
Not the other way around;
Running in a crowd of smiles,
Treading home with secret frowns.
Grieving over things we think are lost,
Not wondering how they brought us
To where we are.
Helpful at most,
So let's give a toast:
To the "real" people,
and the fake,
'Cause in our hearts and souls
We're all the same.
Hold your head up high,
And let your hands move to your stride.
Follow and lead,
Whenever you think it's right.
Don't walk with shame,
Always try to aim...
Remember we've all loved, and felt, and dealt--
and know some form of pain.
Energies flowing and strains and laughter
Strike the same (distant) bell,
We don't even wonder.
'Cause we can't tell.
