Turn over

In your sleep

And find inspiration

In the throbbing blue

Lights

Behind your

Eyelids, so dark

And unfamiliar,

So—

Safe.

Smile

With me

Grimacing behind

Those white gates.

Let me look at you

They cry,

Their voices like the harpies

I see

Swinging through the

Pale cloudy edge on the

Ends of my vision.

You always

Say

Let's get out of here

Let's go,

Go away from all this—

And go where?

Back to whence you came

And

By God,

Get thee Satan behind me,

For I have sinned

In wishing for something so different

So

Neutral

Then what everyone expected.

Can I be

Apathetic

To your dreams,

Your hopes and thoughts of

Something so—

Who knows.

I am indifferent.

I can't care, for

How can something so

Empty

And gone

Care?

(your words, not mine. I have none remember?)

Must all my silences have

Parentheses around them?

Must all my

Sleepless days

Have emotions attached

In sweet little cursive messages asking

How was school?

I should think not.

But, after all,

You won't hear this.

I will remain impassive, and silent

And you—

You will turn over

In your sleep

And find inspiration

In the throbbing blue

Lights

Behind your

Eyelids, so dark

And unfamiliar,

So—

Safe.

Hello all. How are you?

This is just a question concerning the format of my poems: do you all prefer the off to one side, or would you like the poems to be centered?
