A/N: I wrote this for a friend, who lost her mother a while ago. She recently starred in a musical, so that's what the beginning is about.

she sings on a stage,

sings alone and pours her heart out

to the audience, on earth and above.

at the end, the roar of applause is deafening,

and flowers are presented by various people.

after everyone has gone,

she buttons her coat

and walks alone to the cemetery.

she lays a rose upon a grave,

a tear sliding down her cheek,

becoming icy cold in the winter wind.

a girl of fifteen years,

a girl without a mother,

a girl who never said goodbye.

she whispers softly,

"i love you, mommy,"

but her words are snatched away by the wind.
