My first story - be gentle with criticism please ;)

She sat on her window seat, knees hugged to her chest, fingers tracing intricate patters on the pane. She pressed her face against the glass, deep blue eyes following the path of the falling fluff that in a flurry of movement created a blanket of cotton wool on the ground.

The blizzard of white danced across her vision, covering her windowsill with glistening snowflakes and sparkling icicles that winked at her. Outside her window, her square had been transformed into a white, wonderland of beauty, to be gazed upon by passer-bys.

The girl unlatched her window and stretching out her delicate hand, caught a single, white snowflake in mid-fall. Bringing it to her lips, she blew on the lone fluff, sending it back into it's blizzard of friends the continued their flight to the snowy floor. A look absolutely heartbreaking, came across her face that overshadowed her enchanted and awed one. She looked forlorn – to the extreme.

Sighing heavily, she uncurled her legs and started to dress for her worst nightmare – the annual Christmas party that her parents threw for their friends, family and neighbours at Christmas. He would be and therefore, it would be abysmal for her.

Descending the front stairs, the girl with the fake smile schooled her features and squared her shoulders for the inevitable meeting.

Stepping into the room she was immediately bombarded with hugs, kisses on the cheek and loud, happy voices wishing her a 'very merry Christmas' left, right and centre. She was mentally rolling her eyes, at that. As if that would happen.

There was only one hug, kiss, or Christmas greeting that she wanted, needed. When everyone had their fill, she turned in a circle, searching for the eyes that she knew were there.

His dazzling green eyes clashed with hers, making her stomach plummet, awakening her butterflies and creating a warm feeling throughout her body.

The look they shared was anything but friendly or innocent. It was pure and utter lust, love and longing all wrapped up in one. Chemistry was evident in the air, their eyes creating a crackling, sizzling atmosphere in the room. A perfect smile full of promises adourned his flawless face.

Then, -without warning - her heart broke and her mask slipped, leaving a broken, torn and shattered girl standing there, defences in tatters. He was nestled in the corner against a wall with a girl, her hand on his arm. Seeing the girl's look, the boy attempted to explain, pushing himself off the wall, a hand outstretched towards hers.

Without a coherent thought in her head, she spun around, dodged tipsy bodies and with tears blurring her vision, made a mad dash to the door, wrenching it open and flying down the steps.

Her pretty shoes were instantly drowned in snow. She shivered in her formal dress and bit her lip, battling against the cold that was slowly but surely, seeping into her bones. She crunches through the deep, unrelenting snow, trying to escape. She nearly fell twice, her sight blinded by the menacing blizzard.

Heavy footsteps thundered behind her. A jacket was thrown around her shoulders and a hand gripped her arm, painfully spinning her around. There he stood, decked out in winter wear, snow falling into his face that was flitting through two prominent emotions - anger and concern. Anger won.

"Are you crazy! You'll freeze to death", he spat, face set in harsh, cold anger.

"I'm surprised you came after me, after all I mean nothing to you!", she bit out ferociously, equally angry.

Abruptly, his face softened as did his voice – turning to velvety and soft - a whisper. He took a step towards her and she took a step backwards. Sighing, he ran his hand through his jet-black hair, hanging his head. When he looked back up, her world stopped as he brought the full-force of his gaze on her. Taking his chance, he moved forward, capturing her in his arms. His body sheltered hers as he kissed the top of her pretty, struggling, brunette head.

"I love you sweetheart, always have, always will"

"But...."

"No buts. I love you and that's it. My love for you will never melt, vanish or end. It just... will always be."

At those words, her body unfroze and melted into his. She finally had him.

"Kiss the girl already!"

The couple jumped apart, heads whipping to her over-crowded living-room windows. Leaning out of it was her dad, grinning.

All the girl heard next was "Yes Sir", before she was literally swept off her feet, giggling. She swept fluff off his forehead, heart beating rapidly. Then his head was lowering towards hers, eyes never leaving her's.

Sparks exploded as their lips touched, moving in sync – made for each other. She was cradled in his arms, mouth hot on his when she broke off the kiss to run small, teasing kisses along his jaw line, whispering between each kiss, "It's-always-been-you".

Growling lightly he brought his lips back to hers.
