A/N: Why? Because I love you guys. A day late, but whatever.
CHRISTMAS WITH THE MASTERSONS
© All Over You, December 2009
"a happy family is but an earlier heaven."
- George Bernard Shaw
For Danielle Masterson (formerly Danielle Sawyer, but she'd been married for nearly thirty-five years), Christmas was her favorite time of the year. When her four sons—Logan, River, Brock, and Forrest—were younger, she loved spending the holidays with them and her husband, Fletcher. But now that they were all grown up with children of their own (save for Forrest, who was seventeen and still living in her house for a few more months), she rarely spent as much time with them as she wanted to. Sure, they had big family dinners every once in a while, but sometimes one family wouldn't be there, or Fletcher was working, or this person was missing. Danielle rarely ever got them all together under one roof with her, except for birthdays, but still. It was nice to be able to spend time with her boys under her roof again, even if it was for only a couple hours one day a year.
