They scatter your pillow
Looking like tears of blood
Your seat lays vacant
A single sheet of paper
Occupying it
Your neat written word
Etched into the crisp white
I can smell your cologne
Mingling with the plucked flowers
The sheets are crinkled
From your once moving figure
The drapes blow delicately
Enclosing me
In a soft weightless embrace
The French doors remain released
Offering me a clear view of my beloved
You looked the same as the previous night
Confident, strong and in control
The wind picks up
Lifting the vibrant petals into the air
They drift effortlessly towards you
Dancing around your beauty
Like servants they bow to you
And your almighty power
And before long
I find myself lifting away
From my soft slumber
As I float to your side
And dance with the rose petals too
