Always a secret,
Always try to hide it,
But can they all see through me?
I feel like an intruder in the locker room,
They don't know,
They can't catch me staring at them.

I can't help it,
I can't change who I am.
Did I choose to be gay?
It's not a choice, it's not a phase.
I like girls.
I. Am. A. Lesbian.

Please accept me, Mommy.
I'll always be your little girl.
Can't that little girl love a woman?
Is it too much to ask for your "unconditional" love?
Please, I need you here.
Don't abandon me.

Written for those who haven't come out yet. It's hard, believe me, but once you're out, you're free. If you're like me, you're bound to have had some of these same thoughts. Take this from me: Homosexuality is not a disease. It is who you are, and don't let anyone take that away from you. You're still human, gay or straight. If you're gay, follow the ray! (The rainbow, that is.)
