For love to Survive.

By: Tessa Dale

For the small heart of hope,

For with hope love can survive,

But for love to survive, some must be lost.

I lost my mind.

I lost my soul.

If to be there,

I must be here.

If to be heard,

I must scream out.

I gave my shoes.

I gave my hat.

But for love to survive, some must be lost.

Why?

Why must we lose to feel?

Why must it take extremes to see?

I used to know it all,

But that was before I lost.

I don't remember why.

I don't remember who.

I move in.

I move out.

I smile.

I frown.

I push.

I pull.

I strip.

I gather.

But for love to survive, some must be lost.

I hurt.

I brake.

I hide.

I wish.

I pray for a day.

But before long, I fall.

Into the depths of life,

Into the pit of death.

I fall because I want to.

I fell because I need to.

Because for love to survive,

Some must be lost.
