Effulgence

I wrote this for you.

My words may sound hollow
Empty and pointless, too.
But I shall try with all my might
For I attempt to describe you.

Your face is endless; so deep
That it fills my entire sight.
The memories of you I keep
Shall I hold onto them tight?

Your gentle flow everyday
Keeps so many souls alive.
Is it wrong of me to say
That you're my saviour as well?

Your vast eyes gleam and glow
Blue at day and silvery at night
Praised, by the breezes that blow
And stars that stand at such height.

You gave me your entire world
To help me escape my life.
You cannot know the debts I hold
To you, even if they cause strife.

I sat beside you, comforted
Uncountable times and days.
The surreal magic that you did
Brightened and lightened my face.

For such a long time you
Were my friend and love.
Your ever-present existence
Gave me such hope and life.

But alas, 'tis a pity so;
You cannot speak, come or go.
Deep, my words cannot be
For you are only water;
You are just the sea.

A/N: Wrote this after a long period of no-poetry. If you found the imagery, words or imagination I used unsatisfactory, then yes, you're right. I don't find this work so appealing, either. Hence constructive criticism is much appreciated.
