Chapter 1

God I love him! Just to tell you him, is Tristan Emmer only the most gorgeous guy at my school. He's the type of guy who gets detention all the time, not for big things just small things. Like fooling around in class with his friends, sometimes talking back to the teacher.

He had longish dark brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and he was about 5'8 I think. He was hot and all the girls loved him, for his looks and just him in general I guess. He still got good grades despite the fact that he never pays attention in class. He is the one all the girls wanted, the one all the guys wanted to be and were jealous that they weren't.

Me? I'm the girl who sat in the back going 'please don't pick me, please don't pick me' when the teachers were looking for volunteers to answer a question. I'm shy and no one knows me, well except for my best friend Arabelle Warren who I've been best friends with since kindergarten.

I have brown curly hair, like real curls not those fake curls you get from perms, or curling irons. I have brown eyes, and I'm 5'3, I'm small for a 17 year old. If you were to look at me you'd probably think I was anorexic or something, but I'm not, I'm just skinny. Now before you think, 'OMG can you see your bones through your skin?' or something along those lines, you can't see my bones well they don't stick out or anything. You can feel them though if you touch my arm.

Anyway back to Tristan. I LOVE HIM! I know obsessed much. I guess I kinda am, and have been for about a year or so now. Not that he knows me, or even knows I exist but I am. I don't know why, I just kinda fell for him I guess. The really sad thing is, is that we're next door neighbours, and have been for about 17 years. I know right, how can he not know I exist. I don't know, but I do know that he doesn't.

Suddenly a loud ringing broke me out of my of my thoughts. I looked around the class to see everyone leaving the classroom. I quickly gathered my books and headed out the door.

"Skye!" I heard my name being called once I reached my locker, I looked over to see Arabella coming down the halls. She had Long blond hair, and blue eyes.

"Hey Belle." I said when she was standing beside me.

"It's lunch!" she said, looping her arm through mine, after I closed my locker.

"Yeah it is, never seen you so excited for lunch before." I said smiling at her.

Yeah, well class was boring as hell." she said as we entered the cafeteria.

"Mine too." we got in the lunch line. We talked about nothing until we got up to the front. Where I got a salad, and chocolate milk, while Arabelle got an apple, and a chocolate milk.

We went to sit at our normal table. We started eating not talking for a bit, I looked up because I felt eyes on me, but when I looked up no one was looking at me. I spotted Tristan on the other side of the cafeteria with his friends.

"So you still like him, eh?" Arabelle said breaking the silence.

"Yeah I guess." I said looking back at my salad.

"Skye, it's okay to like him, why do you act like it's wrong?"

"Because Belle he doesn't even know I exist." I said looking at her.

"Well I think I'm going to change that." before I had time to speak she got up, grabbed my hand, and pulled me over to where him and his friends were.

"Hey Jason!" Belle said to Jason, Tristan's best friend.

"Hey Arabelle," he said looking up from his food.

"Please how many times do I have to say to call me Belle, it's easier." she said smiling at him.

"Right, so who's your friend?" he said looking at me. Of course I know him, but he doesn't know me.

"Oh well, this is Skye my best friend." she said pointing to me.

"How long has she been your best friend for? I don't remember ever seeing her before." I felt my cheeks turn red.

"Jason, you've gone to school with her since kindergarten." She said softly, looking at me with sorry eyes. Everyone was looking at me, not believing what they had just heard.

"Really?" Lewis spoke this time. He was another one of Tristan's friends.

"Yes really, and no offense Tristan but you should know that the most out of everyone." She said staring at them in disbelief. Tristan and everyone else he was sitting with looked confused at this.

"Why?" he asked. I felt my cheeks growing hotter.

"Belle can we go now please?" I whispered to her.

"No not until he realizes what a jerk he's been." she said making sure everyone at the table heard.

"How have I been a jerk?"

"She's your neighbour, she lives right beside you, and before you ask if she just moved, let me tell you she has lived there for her whole life. Which means you guys have been neighbours for 17 years." she said sharply.

"What do you mean?" Jason asked.

"Exactly what I just said, how could you not of noticed her?" she asked disbelief written all over her.

"Is it true, really?" Tristan asked turning to me. I just nodded and ran out the door. I faintly heard Belle tell them good job but I just kept going.

Tristan's POV

"Really good job guys. I know she's quiet but that's just really pathetic." Arabelle said before walking off.

"What that hell just happened?" I asked my best friend Jason.

"I have no fucking clue, is she really your neighbour?" He asked.

"I honestly don't know, I mean how could I have not of noticed?"

"Maybe because you are a self absorbed asshole." I heard a voice behind me, and saw Arabelle back.

"Why are you back?" I asked her.

"Because I have no idea where Skye went. So I came back to tell you that you have to come help me find her." she told me while grabbing me and pulling me up.

"Why?"

"Because it's you're fault that she ran off in the first place." she said dragging me out the door.

"What about Jason, or Lewis, or Colt?" I asked her.

"Because they are not her neighbours, you are." she said pushing me through the cafeteria door. "We are splitting up you go check the library and the rest of downstairs and I'll check upstairs." she said before walking off.

"Great." I muttered turning to go to the library. I would have just went back to the cafeteria and ignored her, if I was terrified of her.

When I got to the library I pushed open the doors, and walked inside. So this is what the library looks like. Hmm never been in it.

The truth is I haven't noticed her being my neighbour, but I did know she went to my school, I guess I just noticed that she was my neighbour. Duh you dumb ass.

I saw Skye sitting in a corner, I wasn't sure but I could have sworn she was crying. Sure enough when I got closer I saw that she was in fact crying.

"Hey, Skye?" I said sitting down beside her. She looked up, and when she saw who it was she hastily wiped her tears away.

"Yes?" she said her voice cracking.

"I was just wondering if you were okay. And to say I'm really sorry that I didn't know you were my neighbour." I said, she looked like she was holding back more tears.

"It's fine, I already knew you didn't know I existed, I guess it's just worse hearing you say it, not only you all of your friends." she said getting up, I got up with her.

"I know, and I feel so bad about it." I was telling the truth I honestly felt so bad, for not knowing she existed or at least that she was my next door neighbour.

"It's just worse because I li-" her eyes widened as she cut herself off, and quickly turned away. I smiled knowing what she was about to say, but I had to hear her say it. You could say that was mean. but I honestly want to hear her say it. She was so beautiful, I bet I could easily fall in love with her if I got to know her. Wait. What did I just think? Weird. I grabbed her wrist and she turned around.

"What makes it worse?" I asked her. She looked at me pleadingly, but just looked back.

"You really want to know?" she asked me.

"Yes." I said, as she took a deep breath.

"What makes it worse is the fact that I like someone who didn't even know I existed until about 10 minutes ago." she said turning around again, but I still held her wrist.

"What?" she asked. I just shook my head and walked away with a smile. I think we're going to be great friends, after all I did owe her.

Skye's POV

What the hell did I just do? I asked myself, walking out the library.

"Skye! There you are, I've been looking for you." Arabelle said walking up to me and pulling me into a hug.

"Hey Belle." I said hugging her back.

"I am so sorry, I should have just left it aloe like you asked me to." she said looking at me asking me for forgiveness with her eyes.

"It's fine, everything is good now. He apologized, and I have to tell you something else."

"Okay?" she said hesitantly as the bell rang to go to class.

"I'll call you tonight." I told her walking to my next class.

My next classes passed by, boringly. And I was so relieved when I could finally go home.

I walked in the door, and was greeted by Claire my little sister. She was 5 and when she was my age she would probably look the same as me or close to it.

"Claire!" I said picking her up and walking to the kitchen, where I saw my mom. "Hey mom."

"Hey Skye, how was school?" she asked, as I set Claire down on the floor.

"It was good I guess." I didn't really feel like telling her about what happened at lunch.

"That's good, I wanted to tell you the Emmer's are coming over for supper." she told me smiling.

"Why?" I asked, nervously.

"Ella said her son called her at lunch and suggested we all get together, apparently he was really sorry that he hadn't realized that you two were neighbours until today and said he wanted to get to know you."

"Oh, okay." Great so now my mom knows, this just keeps getting better and better. "I'm going to go call Belle."

"Okay, and just to tell you I expect an explanation later tonight!" she called to me while was walking up the stairs to my room.

I dialed Belle's number, and I rang only once before she picked up.

"About time Skye!" I rolled my eyes at her even though she couldn't see it.

"You know it could have been someone else." I said.

"No it couldn't I knew it was you."

"fine whatever so what's up?" I asked casually knowing what she wanted and decided I would wait a bit before I told her.

"Skye, don't do that, you know what I want to hear. So spill." she said.

"Fine Belle, I told him that l liked him." As I was saying it I was pulling the phone away from my ear, knowing she would start to scream, and of course I was right.

"What the hell why?!!!!" she just kept saying over and over again. "Hello!! Are you still there?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"Uh, because we weren't finished talking?" I said.

"You know what I meant, why did you tell him you like him?"

"I don't know I just did, don't worry he didn't car much." I said, shrugging.

"Skye there here get off the phone and come down!" My mom called from downstairs.

"Okay, one minute!" I yelled back.

"Okay good, so who's there?" Belle asked.

"Oh just the Emmer's, bye!" I said and quickly hung up the phone.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where, my mom, dad, and all of the Emmer's were. Ella Emmer, Tristan's mom, Edward Emmer, Tristan's dad, and Leah Emmer, Tristan's 5 year old sister. You want to know what's really pathetic that our sisters are best friends, and before today he didn't know I existed.

"Skye!" Claire said and I lifted her up. Leah came over to me and hugged my legs.

"Hey there Leah, how's it going?" I asked

"Good, look my big brother is here." she said pointing over to where Tristan was, he looked at his sister and smiled then looked at me and came over to us.

"Now I feel even worse for not knowing you, I mean not only are our sisters best friends but my sister knows you so well." he said looking kinda down, as he picked his sister up.

"It's really fine." I said smiling at him.

"Not really, especially since my sister talks about you all the time, about how pretty and nice you are, I really wanted to meet this girl she always talked about, and now I feel so awful." he said smiling at his little sister.

"Don't, you really don't have to feel bad." I said.

"Come on guys, dinner is ready." my dad came out of the kitchen and to the living room, where we had seemed to move to. We all walked into the kitchen. Leah and Claire sat in their special seats. I sat down at my normal spot, and Tristan sat across from me.

Dinner was really good and there was a lot of unimportant banter going on, but it was over all a really fun dinner.
