Pain, Suffering, Peace

A little boy
a life of misery and hate
love for one summer
what did I do
to create such an ending?
to trust
then to lose
a burden so extreme
that it's been pushed aside
forgotten
a soul with a flame so brilliant
a strength so high
but the weight of the demons
building on his shoulders
brings all happiness crumbling down
One depressing night
when the rain patters against the window
mocking the stains left on the boy's face
one single light flickers on the sill
the night is still
the boy trembles as he writes
the paper filled with anger and pain
Then a single bounded knot
tied and tightened
struggles and gasps
strangles and turns
until the room is lifeless
oxygen escapes
as the candle flickers
then doused
