I watch my life

As it spins further

And further

Out of my control.

I look back

At the road I have travelled,

And I realise I never

Had control

To begin with.

I look up ahead and see

A fork in the road.

Time to make a decision.

I wish I could just be the road itself,

To know every part of myself,

To have a map and guide for me.

But that isn't the way it works.

So I'll just sit here waiting for

A sign,

An epiphany,

Or another traveller

Who's just as confused as me.

At least that way I'll know

I'm not the only one

On the road.
