A stab of sharp pain struck my side as I launched my dagger. I clutched both hands to my side, staggering over, and collapsing onto the snow. The world around me twisted and became distorted. I coughed, a thin stream of blood running out of my lips and down the side of my cheek. I heard a familiar voice scream, "DES!"
Blood poured out of my gash, and down the side of my leg. I blinked in and out of consciousness, gasping for air like a fish out of water. A beautiful fox girl quickly began barking orders at a somber faced neko-girl. The neko girl quickly began holding a swatch of fabric to my side while the fox girl handed her various concoctions. I struggled to keep my eyes open, though I knew that it was futile. Right here, right now, I was going to die. The fox girl murmured a chant, as the neko-girl made attempts to stop the bleeding. I looked up at the sky; it was a cloudy, damp gray as if to mock me. The two girls tending to my gash begin crying, their tears dripping down, and mixing with my hot, searingly painful cut. Darkness engulfed me as I succumbed to the pain that now consumed me.
