Jonnie and Estelle: Learning to Share

Crystallized pink shards

Cotton candy carves out my molars

Melting and molding to my smile

While you brush my toenails black

And create plumes like a chimney stack

When I whine you say sugar is my drug

As you hug my foot and smudge the details

You whisk a pink flake from my face

Tongue to thumb; I clear ashes from your lashes

"Give me a piece of that poison, baby"

He steals a tuft and I drag a dreg

Spilling secrets and saliva for the time to pass
