Note: Hello. Charlyee Frightening here. I wanted to publish this to see if it's any good. You'll see a lot of Artemis around now, so I hope you like her and Dunner. So this is a one shot between Dunner and Artemis, about there relationship. I'm sorry it's it cheesy and vague and that list of people, don't worry about that. They'll all come in one-shot and what not of their own. So please enjoy this.
I own all right to Artemis, Dunner and all the other characters in this one shot.
It was a peaceful day in Paana. So peaceful in fact that the Phoenix Gang had decided to lay around in Ice Town, to relax in the hot springs and do some shopping and stocking up on supplies and what not. Many of the group and gone there separate ways for the time being but a certain white dragon and his partner were of course together.
Dunner was in his human form. He was fairly tall at 5'12 and had a slim yet muscular build. He had a slightly cream skin tone big deep chocolate brown eyes and somewhat spiky white hair to the nape of his neck. He wore a thick black and sky-blue overcoat and a pair of dark wash jeans, some black gloves, a pair of black boots, a navy blue hat and of course his favorite white and light blue scarf. He felt Artemis's choice of winter clothes was appropriate, but his element was fire and no matter how warm he was dressed, he could still smell the snow and feel the cold on his face, and Ice Town was know for its extreme colds. An icy gust flew by, throwing snow and ice around.
Dunner wrapped his arms around his human form.
It was so cold. That was one of the many things Dunner didn't like about the Northern Part of Paana. It was cold. Having been born in a much warmer climate, the cold set him in a bad mood.
"Dunner." A voice called. The White Mana Dragon instantly recognized the voice as Artemis'. He turned to look in her direction.
"What's up?" He said tilting his head to the side.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting here, but I'm ready to go now." She said with her famous heart melting smile. Dunner could find no fault in Artemis. Though she had been in this particular store for a hour.
"It's alright. I didn't mind." Without a word Dunner took the bags in Artemis' hands, not even bothering to look inside of them. It was none of his business anyway.
"I didn't ask you to do that." Artemis stated crossing her arms and giving Dunner a slightly miffed look. Dunner cast her a chocolate glance and an honest smile.
"I know, but I wanted to do it." He stated, looking at the sky.
It was grey.
"I'll snow soon." Artemis said, catching Dunner's attention again.
"Really? You think so?" He asked shifting the bags. Artemis nodded at him and looked up at the sky.
Dunner followed her gaze and watched as the tiny white crystals, know as snowflakes fell from the sky.
"Looks like you were right." He said thoughtfully a small smile adorning his face. Artemis laughed and wrapped an arm around Dunner's pressing the warmth of her small human body into his much larger human form.
Dunner had often seen her do this to Jax, or he'd seen Nen do it to Artemis. It was an expression of affection. Dunner realized at that moment, that he was a tad bit lonely.
Jax and Artemis.
Artemis and Nen.
Artemis and Lyddia.
Even Sven and Paris and so on and so forth.
The list of people Dunner had to share Artemis with was endless. And he hated it. A part of him knew he should be grateful for what he had, but the other part was too consumed by jealously to listen.
"Ne, Dunner?" Artemis question tore him from his thoughts.
"Yeah?" He answered.
"What are you thinking about?" Dunner stiffened, and since Artemis was so close to him, she felt it.
"What's wrong?" She asked concern clear in her voice.
"Nothing." Dunner said softly a frown on his face. He wished he was in his dragon form; his emotions weren't so clear on his face. Artemis stopped walking and Dunner followed her lead, stopping as well.
"Dunner." She said warningly. Dunner looked at her, and took in the features he had memorized so well.
Her, big and beautiful bright gold eyes, surrounded by long eyelashes. Her smooth satin caramel skin. Her long silky raven black hair, so dark the bird it was referring to was jealous. Her button nose, her petite fragile looking, yet strong frame, she sweet heart shaped face. She was perfect to Dunner. He then apprized her winter/cold weather outfit:
A forest green trench coat dress to her knees that had white puffy buttons along the front of it. Her legs where covered with thick black stocking and her feet where ornamented with a pair of furry white boots. She had a white beanie snow cap with a forest green scary face mark covering her head and wore a pair of white gloves, and a big white scarf around her neck and a pair of light blue goggles where resting over her hat. She looked awfully cute.
"I'm jealous." He said plainly. Artemis looked at him.
"I have to share MY Soul Partner, with everyone else, and I hate it." Dunner said softly. Artemis sighed.
"Dunner what's something you could use to descried our relationship now?" Dunner looked around at the sleepy frost covered town and its pleasant people. He chose the thing that made the most sense to him.
"A snowflake. It's fragile and I have to do everything to keep you with me. Everyone seems to want you around. Jax, your boyfriend. Nen, the clingy mess, Alyss, your best friend, Lyddia, your big sister. Hell, everyone wants you, and I'm the only one that can't seem to keep you where you belong." Dunner lamented.
"And where's that?" Artemis said softly.
"With me……if only for a few short moments." Dunner said sadly hanging his head in defeat.
A silence fell between the two and Artemis looked up at the sky.
"You got it wrong." The petite girl said after a bit looking up at her friend.
"Huh?" Dunner looked at her. Confusion playing in his eyes and on his face.
"The question I asked you, you got the answer wrong." Artemis stated a playful smirk on her face. Her eyes lit up a little and Dunner was curious as to what she was thinking about. "The correct answer is, as gentle as a snowflake, and warm as the sun, and as deep as the ocean. The relationship you and I share, is everlasting, Dunner."
"Everlasting?" Dunner said it, to taste the word on his tongue. He liked it. Artemis nodded and stood on the tip of her toes and placed a soft kiss on Dunner cheek. Dunner's pale human cheeks lit up with a dark red blush, contrasting not only the color of his skin but the color of his hair as well.
"Correct." She said with a giggle, before she skipped off, calling Dunner after her. Clutching the bags tightly the dragon in human form walked after is Soul Partner, a smile lit up Dunner's human form. He didn't like the cold, but right now, it held one of his fondest memories in its icy yet gentle embrace, and Dunner love that.
Because sure he hated sharing Artemis with
Even Sven and Paris and so on and so forth.
But the relationship he had with her was Everlasting, and that was something he liked.
