Nerves
My nerves they shake me
Playing on my bones
And dancing on my heartstrings
Booming my lively heart is sinking
Puffing away in my chest then in my stomach
Capsizing my words and blushing my cheeks
I am fluent in stuttering and nodding my head
Talented in making my body stiff
In paralyzing me from head to toe
Most aren't jealous but they see the gift
They gawk and stares with wide eyes
Wide eyes that tighten my throat and water my eyes
Slippery palms and swishing eyes
I can't give up my secret of how I do this
How my performance is so amazing
Most watch me with dropped jaws
Which make me go blind, as the lights get brighter
I am succumbed with a floating head
I can't focus and stumbling becomes my new move
My words trip as my body lurches
In the end, I forget how to breathe
