I trudge along

To lyrics with drained spite

And too-soft songs

I hum to and recite

All these words contribute

To my emotional biography

And my final salute

Each move part of my choreography

Every little word wraps around

And around I will go

To follow this delightful sound

To somewhere far below

This music serenades

And lulls me time and again

So if the guise degrades

And reveals to me sirens

I'll soak in the charades

And live in a convex lens
